Sometimes it is nice to see how a homeschool day goes in another home. I know I often find some new ideas and always some encouragement from fellow homeschoolers. Ever wonder what a day in the life of one of our homeschool reviewers is like? We invite you take a peek! Below, our authors share a day in the life or take you on a tour of their homeschools – or both!
Come visit the places where we enjoy all the homeschool curriculum we review:
- Angie at Petra School shares her Schoolroom Organization. She also answers the question, When Do We Know a Topic Enough? and invites you over for Relaxed Learning Observations. “Do you wonder how or why we would call ourselves unschoolers to relaxed learners and yet, still use and review so many products?”
- Annie Kate at Tea Time with Annie Kate has a wonderful Serenity Prayer Made Practical. “The writer of the Serenity Prayer had undoubtedly encountered both irritating frustration and deep disasters when he wrote these famous lines. The question is: how can we make this practical?” She also shares her Unschedule with Grades 12, 10, 7 and 5, saying, “Detailed schedules, it seems to me, work best in families that don’t have animals or gardens and that don’t live close to nature.”
- In Barb-Harmony Art Mom‘s A Day in My Life she says, “I have never typed it all out like that before and it is surprising to see it all down in black and white.”

- Cindy at Our Journey Westward offers A Typical Day from her 10 Days of Charlotte Mason series. “It seems simple, yet really works for us. My children are academically challenged, my house is relatively clean and organized, and we all have time to pursue our passions.”
- Dawn at Guiding Light Homeschool says, “One thing I truly believe in is following their lead. I want schooling to be enjoyable so if it appears it would be better for us to work later in the day, we’ll work later in the day. If it’s a beautiful day outside, we may start later and go outside to enjoy the weather before the afternoon heat…” in her post A Day in the Life of Homeschooling Boys.
- Ellen at The Bluestocking Belle shares A Day in Our Life – At Least For Now, saying, “Since summer’s in the air, I like to keep things light, refreshing, and different.”
- Heather at Upside Down Homeschooling shows us A Peek into our Day “…here is a look at how our days usually run. I say usually because we all know life happens and the longer we homeschool, the more flexible I become.”

- Kendra at Aussie Pumpkin Patch has wonderful ideas to show you in Keeping the Homeschool Organized and also shares A Day in the Life she says, “is extraordinarily long and has absolutely no pictures in it. If you’re game to read it go for it.”
- Mary at Homegrown Learners shares Of Math, Martin Luther and Doing Hard Things as well as where they learn in their home in Abandoning the School Room. Plus, Mary says, “I naturally do not like schedules, but I know I need one to be most productive. It is a struggle for me to make and stick to a schedule.” So she has more of a routine in her Day in the Life of Homegrown Learners.
- Tricia at Hodgepodge, in her A Day in the Life at Hodgepodge says, “Sometimes I think homeschooling has taught me more than the children. This season of my life is a constant refining by fire.”
- What a great spot Sam at Sam’s Noggin has for her six children for learning! Stop by Where We Homeschool.
- Stephanie at Harrington Harmonies shares What is a Homeschool Day Like in the Life of a Military Child? Stephanie and her family just moved into a new home. You need to stop by and see how her learning area is transformed in Back to School Ready: Chalk Talk.
- Steve at Hodgepodge was the chief organizer, designer and brains behind Our IKEA and Chalkboard Homeschool Room, pictured above. “What began as a simple love of chalkboard resulted in a homeschool makeover of house-sized proportion. A redo based on learning styles, storage needs and sanity-saving measures.”
