Seton Religion for Young Catholics

Seton Religion

While we have made many changes in our homeschool over the years, the one thing that has stayed consistent has been our use of Religion for Young Catholics from Seton.  Ever since Jacob started kindergarten eight years ago it has been our one mainstay.

We have stayed with the Seton books for religion instruction because they work! Our children have an excellent grasp of their faith.  Often times I’m learning right along side of them.

What we like best about Religion for Young Catholics:

1. Thoroughly Catholic Teaching – nothing is watered down, and Seton takes a very straightforward approach to teaching the faith.

2. Beautiful Artwork – Beautiful images of the the holy family on almost every page.

3. Workbooks progress through the grades – The early elementary books start out with just pages of text {and artwork} to read to your child.  Simple, but not watered down, text.  As the grades go on it becomes more of a workbook.  Fill in the blank, matching, crossword puzzles, etc.

4. Independent study for older children – As children progress, it can be an independent subject for many children. Of course, discussions always aid in the understanding of subjects like religion!

This is one area that I don’t have to spend time researching each year.  I know this is a solid program.  My kids are learning, retaining, and applying their information.  Their knowledge shows up in discussions we have, and questions they ask through day to day life.

These books have helped us to truly live our faith in our family, not only in our heads but in our hearts as well.
